La Organización de Estudiantes Feministas de la Universidad de Houston (SFO) y un grupo de trabajadores domésticas guatemaltecas, La Colmena, están trabajando juntas para crear un programa de intercambio de lenguaje entre estudiantes progresivas y trabajadores domésticas. Este intercambio solamente acepta a las mujeres.

El Movimiento Feminista de Houston se encontrara a las 9:30 de la mañana de este Sabado, el 6 de Agosto, en la intersección de Kirby y McNee Rd para apoyar a todo que están en contra de Rick Perry y su evento absolutamente y inapropiado, “The Response” (‘La Respuesta’).

I think the title is a bit unclear - this article is about how victims of sex crimes are perceived, compared to victims of theft. It’s a good read, even though it’s not new information.

When Jennifer Stuller (one of the creators of the upcoming Geek Girl Con) suggested that women who criticized “sexiness” were more than likely deconstructing the media, and by extension a society that tells women their worth lies in their ability to appeal aesthetically to men, she was rebuffed by the other members of the panel. Later, Stuller attempted to turn the discussion towards media literacy, to which Clare Grant responded that she doesn’t read magazines, therefore the media has no influence on her whatsoever. Adrianne Curry added that women criticize one another “because we’re all a bunch of bitches.

If you’re a politician, you should be prepared for people to disagree with and criticize your viewpoint. The only unprofessional thing I see in this situation is Rep. West’s email, which is childish and sexist.
I definitely second their recommendation to check out the #actlikealady hashtag, because I saw some great tweets yesterday!
